About

My work is a splash of both representation and the formal qualities of the mediums and techniques themselves. Themes in the work range from internal struggles to whimsical fantasies, I explore the idea of "good vs. evil" or "hero vs. villain" and the grey areas that are often between the two. I draw inspiration from the fairy tales and stories I grew up with and continue to enjoy. --- I would like to find a bridge between art and activism, and have dabbled with it in a series about anger. Emotions are so interesting to me, molding and shaping our world. I think that it is crucial to understand them; they are important. --- I'm an artist and a student at Florida Atlantic University, working on my BFA in Painting. I plan to pursue a graduate degree. I work as an instructor at the Coral Springs Museum of Art. --- Instagram: @kimsartandstuff Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/KimHeise Website: kimheise.com
