Oil on Canvas, 3ft x 3ft. This is 1 out of 2 paintings I have been working on for a Commission for my mother's boss. This one is the one of the Redwood Forest. My ideas were to make it look grand and almost mystic. I wanted the colors to be bold, making the trees look strong and powerful, the light bounces of the leaves and settles in on the trees and ground. I also wanted the motion of the trees to feel like they are shooting upwards with lots of energy, so I tried to make the brushstrokes long and energetic, moving upwards vertically. I am really proud of how it turned out, glad I was finally able to complete it.
