I was experimenting with an orange marker and a black pen at this moment. The concept is nothing strange compared to what I usually come up with. I often like to play with contradictions. In this case it\'s the childish fantasy of a matchstick that came to life, against the gruesome fate the suffering creature has to endure. Contradictions like these are also found in the fairy tales of the brothers Grimm and Hans Christian Andersen. The hidden horror is what makes a fairy tale complete, like Rumpelstiltskin who tore himself apart. That is why I try to look for concepts with comparable hidden horrors and contradictions.
