sojoonsup leírása

Charcoal on illustration boardrnParsons Hometest 02rnrn On my way home, I suddenly take notice of the shadows on the ground. I am taken aback at the chaotic criss crossing of lines above my head. It takes me a second to realize that there are electrical wires/cables tangled like a spider web looming over me.rn Electrical wires are above us everywhere but we often forget, or do not even recognize them. Below them, in the cities, people are walking, moving, running, talking, worrying, below and have little time or inclination to look toward the sky. They cannot stop for fear of losing to the competition. “Bballi, Bballi, Bballi!” (Korean for “Hurry, hurry, hurry”). There is no time to stop and smell the flowers, no time to look around and carefully look at those things that surround us.rnOr perhaps, those tangled wires demand that people live that way. People, including me, are not free in a desolate and competitive city like a butterfly trapped in a spider web. Society’s focus on technology, the development and advancement of technology have improved modern life considerably; at the same time, we have lost our natural ability to daydream and hope. Instead, we have become prey to work and the meaningless busy-ness that controls our actions and thoughtsrn Electrical poles and wires looming overhead, ironically, awakened me to my blindness and forced me to take notice of what was around me.

    Welcome on FuturMaestri!
I appreciate a lot this drawing and it was great to read your explanation. (I could also add that beneath our feet this web continues, with the water and gas pipes, underground tunnels, garages, etc.)
